There have been many famous Hispanics throughout history who have helped to shape the course of the world, some of whom you may not have heard of. Both Marco Ulpio Trajano and Teodosio I the Great served as Emperors of the Roman Empire during the ancient days, both men being born in Spain. Both were popular leaders who had served in the military of the Roman Empire, and rose to the position of Emperor through hard work and political intelligence. One may be able to learn a great deal from these famous Hispanics about what it takes to take both command and responsibility. If they could run an empire, what might you be able to run?
Some famous Hispanics, such as Martin Alonso Pinzon and Francisco Pizarro were explorers who helped to set much of the pace of what would come to be the exploration of the new world. Pizarro in particular had a great influence in what has since become South America, particularly in the country of Peru. Pinzon was the navigator for Christopher Columbus, and eventually became commander of the Pinta. Both of these famous hispanics were integral to the travel to and from the old world, and helped to shape the events which now form the basis of how we think about North, South, and Central America. Although their stories are not necessarily happy ones, they have played such a pivotal role in the establishment of the New World that reviewing history without these famous Hispanics would be a serious mistake.
Other famous Hispanics are writers and artists, such as Maimonides, a famous Jewish philosopher born in the year 1138, who wrote much on his beliefs and the philosophies which he wished to share with his people. Others, such as Francisco de Goya, were painters who worked in the medium of showing the world how he saw political and social events in his time. There are other famous Hispanics which you may have heard of but did not know they were Hispanic, however, such as Walt Disney, who needs little introduction. As one of the pioneers of family entertainment, he accomplished much in establishing what is now the modern standard of animation. If you search throughout history, you can find a great range of famous Hispanics, whether born in the New or the Old World. There are many more historic figures, each with their own story.
